Women of Color: SCSU's 19th Women's Studies Conference.
Southern Connecticut State University's Women's Studies Department held its 19th Women's Studies Conference on Friday, April 15, and Saturday, April 16, 2010, in West New Haven, CT. On Saturday CAMKit staff
took the earliest train from South Station (destination Florida) and arrived about 9:30 AM at the university's beautiful campus. After giving our
workshop at 11 AM, we found many rewarding things to do at this special event--so many wonderful workshops,
panel discussions, speakers, and performances, that it was difficult to choose. During a delicious vegan lunch, we sat with some of the speakers and panelists. For information about the
Women Studies Program and annual conference at SCSU, you can contact Dr. Yi-Chun Tricia
Lin, the gracious and energetic director,
Engleman Hall B229,
Southern Connecticut State University
501 Crescent Street, New Haven, CT 06515, (203) 392-6133, womenstudies@southernct.edu. SCSU's
Women's Studies Program presented its 8th Annual Women's Studies
Graduate Conference on its campus on Saturday, October 30, 2010. The
topic was
"Trafficking Humans: An Interdisciplinary Approach Addressing Sex and Labor Exploitation."
See the Women's Studies Program's webpage for the invitation for proposals on interdisciplinary scholarly and creative work.
