Barbara Passero, Director

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Barbara Passero is the founder and Director of the Exploring Careers through Mentoring Program.

In 2001, Barbara founded Sandpiper Creative, the parent company for the Exploring Careers through Mentoring Program. Sandpiper Creative offers publication editing and formatting services.

In addition to career education for girls, Barbara is active in public outreach on sustainabilty, environmental topics, preservation of open space, and land use planning matters. She was a town meeting member in Belmont, MA, from 2004-2010.

Memberships

Barbara dba Sandpiper Creative is a member of the Association of American University Women's Girls Coalition, National Association of School Counselors, Massachusetts Marine Educators, Massachusetts Environmental Educators Society, Massachusetts Association of School Counselors, MetroNorth Regional Employment Board (REB) Youth Commission, the Coalition for Science After-School, Waltham Weston Chamber of Commerce, and other organizations.

Barbara earned the B.A. in English from Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio, and an M.L.S. in Library and Information Science from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. She has taken additional courses in public relations, InDesign, PhotoShop, graphic design, and business management.


Lyn Koslo, Consultant

Lyn Koslo retired from the North Ridgeville, Ohio, schools after 31 years teaching elementary school, primarily 2nd through 5th grade.

Lyn Koslo lives in North Olmstead, Ohio. She earned the BS in Education with grad school to continue certification in elementary education. Since retiring she volunteered as a tutor in reading in the Cleveland Public Schools. She is now involved with religious education for Southwest Unitarian Universalist Church in North Royalton, Ohio, where the emphasis is on encouraging children to think for themselves and be sensitive to social justice and environmental issues.

Jane Sherwin, Consultant

Jane Sherwin interviewed and developed mentor story cards for some of the women in the healthcare field for the Exploring Careers through Mentoring Programs (www.camkit.info/mentors.html).

Jane Sherwin is the owner of WordDrive Communications, a practice built on more than thirty years of experience in writing for healthcare, business, and education. Past employers include Harvard University, MIT, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. She brings to CAMKit a variety of experience in direct mail marketing, shareholder responsibility, financial management, and writing for sales and marketing. Jane is a graduate of Smith College, with an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her web address is http://www.WordDriveCommunications.com.


Jim Voymas, Webmaster

Jim Voymas earned his Web Design certificate from Boston University in 2001. In 2002 he founded Web Vortex, a Web Design and Internet Promotions company. He currently develops and promotes websites for professionals, businesses and organizations on the Internet.

James Voymas, Webmaster

Jim Voymas developed the CAMKit (www.camkit.info) and Sandpiper Creative (www.sandpipercreative.com) websites with Ms. Passero. He incorporated the design elements from flyers and other program materials. He continually updates the website and performs all technical functions related to the website, e-mail communications, and Internet promotion of the CAMKit program.
